Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are used to help assess and determine the root cause of imbalances and faulty movement patterns that lead to issues with posture, balance, and total body coordination. Through an understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics, corrective exercises are used to understand and address movement patterns to improve overall quality of movement. In this session I seek to help people with acute and chronic injuries, and teach both bodyweight and weighted exercises focused on increasing strength, mobility, and stability.
Self-Myofascial Release (SMFR)
Self-myofascial release (SMFR) techniques are useful in providing relief when needed to tight muscles and joints. Tools such as foam rollers and lacrosse balls are used, along with one’s own bodyweight, to decrease fascial adhesions, and improving joint and muscular range of motion.
In this session I teach you how to effectively use these SMFR tools throughout the entire body, specific to your needs, and accessible at any time!
A foam roller and small ball (tennis or lacrosse ball may be used) are required for this session.
Therapeutic Self / Partner Massage Techniques
Massage techniques are useful to help reduce discomfort and improve ease of movement. In this session you will learn a variety of basic massage techniques and guidelines. These sessions can be taught to individuals who need ideas of how to therapeutically stretch and massage one’s own body,
or how to support another (spouse, friend, partner).
A massage table is not required for this session,
but can be extremely useful for proper body mechanics and ergonomics.
